Spa Etiquette

OPERATING HOURS: Amani City Spas offers treatments Monday – Friday 08h30 to 20h00 and on weekends and Public Holidays from 09h00 to 18h00. Amani Cape Town Spa offers treatments from Monday to Sunday from 08.00am to 20.00pm.  Amani Safari Spas offers treatments from Monday to Sunday from 08.00am to 17.00pm. Should a guest wish to book a treatment outside of operating times, we will do our utmost to accommodate their request, subject to therapist availability.

SPA BOOKINGS: We recommend that you book your Spa treatments in advance in order to avoid disappointment, especially when booking on the weekends as weekends can be booked up a month in advance. Please specify when booking if you would prefer a male or female therapist. On confirmation of your spa treatment or package, Amani will require credit card details in order to secure your reservation. Please note all information provided will be kept strictly confidential.

SPA CONFIRMATION: A 50% deposit is required to secure all treatment bookings confirmed Monday – Friday, while full prepayment on all treatment bookings confirmed on weekends and public holidays is required at least two days prior to the booking date.

CANCELLATION POLICY: A booking cancellation fee of 50% will be charged on all bookings that are cancelled within 8 hours or less of the appointment time; in the case of a “no-show”, the full cost will be charged. should the booking be confirmed with a gift voucher, a cancellation fee of 50% of the value of the gift voucher will be charged, and in case of a “no show”, the full value of the gift voucher will be considered as redeemed. Should a group consisting of 5 persons or more wish to cancel their booking, they are requested to provide at least one week’s notice or the full value of the group booking will be charged.

DISCLAIMER: The Hotel, Amani Spa or any of the Spa’s therapists cannot accept responsibility for any adverse reactions, accidents or complications before, during or after Spa treatments. Amani is not liable for any theft, damage, loss or misfortune that may occur.

PUNCTUALITY: Guests are requested to arrive at the Spa a minimum of 20 minutes prior to the appointed time, as each guest will be required to complete a consultation card prior to the spa treatment/s. A late arrival may mean that your treatment time is reduced or unable to be honoured.

CONSULTATION: Please be sure to complete a consultation card prior to your Spa treatment/s and alert your therapist to any medical condition or contra-indications that you may have, to ensure each guest has a comfortable and memorable experience at the Spa.

SPA FACILITIES: The Spa facilities are included free of charge for Spa guests. The Spa has male and female change with lockers; you will be provided with a gown, a pair of slippers and a towel, as well as a locker to store all valuables and clothes for the duration of your visit to the spa. The change

rooms have showers for you to make use of after your treatment and shower gel, shampoo and conditioner and body lotion are provided.

SAFETY: We advise you not to wear any jewellery during your visit and to rather keep valuables safe in your locker. Your locker key should be kept with you at all times.

DRESS CODE: Amani is a unisex spa facility, so a swimming costume is mandatory when using the pools or Hydro facilities as the Spa operates on a strictly no-nudity policy. You may keep your underwear on for body treatments or massage.

SPA ETIQUETTE: To ensure that all guests benefit from the quiet and tranquil environment, we request that all areas are shared respectfully, as there are treatments taking place elsewhere in the spa. Please refrain from using cellular telephones in the Spa; however should you have your cell phone with you, please make sure it is on silent.

SPA PRICES: All Spa Treatment and Retail Prices as well as promotional offers are current at the time of distribution and are subject to revision without prior notice. Products purchased are not refundable. All prices are VAT inclusive.

SPA TREATMENTS: This is your time to relax; if you do not want to be bothered with chitchat please let the therapist know she must respect your silence. Do not be afraid to speak out and let your therapist know if you are uncomfortable, cold or unhappy with the pressure of the treatment. Please note that all treatments are subject to therapist availability.

HYDRATION: We encourage you to drink plenty of water before and after treatments to enhance the benefits. Water, herbal teas and fresh fruit are available at the Spa. We recommend that alcohol is not consumed prior to having any treatment(s).

SPECIAL PACKAGES: We offer specialised packages to suit any requirement, including Bridal, Birthday, Anniversary, Baby Showers and Corporate Packages.

GIFT VOUCHERS: Gift vouchers are available from the Spa and can be issued for specific treatments or for a specific value. Gift vouchers are redeemable at any Amani Spa nationwide. The original gift voucher must be presented at an appointment in order to be honoured. Please note that gift vouchers may not be redeemed for cash, are non-transferable and have an expiry date.

AGE RESTRICTION: The age restriction at the Spa is 16 years. However Amani has a pro-active approach to teenagers and advises parents / guardians to consult with the therapists regarding available treatments for children.  Children will be able to enjoy the benefits of the Spa under the supervision of an adult and by appointment only.

GROUP BOOKINGS: A group reservation of 5 persons or more requires a 50% deposit on confirmation of the reservation. Should a group wish to cancel their booking, they are kindly requested to provide at least one weeks’ notice or the full cost of the group booking will be charged. A no-show on the day from one of the group’s guests will result in the full cost of his/her treatment or package being charged for.

GRATUITIES: Showing appreciation / gratitude at the end of your treatment is appreciated but is at your full discretion. This can be done at the front desk after your treatment. The recommended rate is 10% of your service price.
